About this position:
Kingborough Council has a vacancy for a Maintenance and Construction Worker with the Roads Unit. This position undertakes general labouring duties and plant/truck operations associated with the maintenance and construction of roads and drainage assets.
You will need good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as being physically fit for work in an outdoor environment. A white card and current driver’s licence are essential. Previous experience working in the civil construction sector would be well-regarded.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Experience in the civil construction industry,
- Experience using a variety of plant and machinery,
- The ability to perform manual labour,
- Good communication skills,
- Experience working as part of a team whilst also being self-sufficient,
- A commitment to adhering to safe work practices.
Further details:
The role is full-time and offers a salary in the range of $63,922 - $65,727 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus 12.5% employer superannuation contribution.
The outdoor workforce is currently working a 4-day week on a trial basis. This arrangement is subject to review and may revert to a 9-day fortnight.
